I cleaned out my closet when I moved back to my parent’s house for the summer. Most of the stuff in the closet was from my childhood. When I was a kid I stuffed it so full of stuff that when I grew up it was just too much to go through. I had been putting it off and putting it off for a long time, but then I decided since I was moving a bunch of stuff anyway to sort through it. I found a lot of old photos and writings so I decided to scan them and put them here. There’s a lot I didn’t find that I would have liked to and also a lot I didn’t scan. That being said, here are a few that I selected. Feel free to click any of the images for the full resolution.

Me fishing on the pier in Padre Island, Texas.

Grandpa and Mackenzie. This was at Grandma and Grandpa’s old house.

Christmas 1997. Mariel and I.

Mackenzie and I with the dogs. Our old dog, Ebony and Sierra.

Padre Island, Texas 1999.

Dad in Texas.

Christmas 1998. I got a new telescope!

Mariel, Mackenzie and Katie.

I don’t know the year, but this is when I got my highest score bowling: 215.

This was from my 3rd grade teacher when I was sick.
The following were taken out of my old journals. Even as a kid I was an avid journal-keeper. I tried to write every day.

Today I went back to school and wrote some more books. Underneath is a picture of my elementary school. The name of the school is spelled wrong, though.

Today I got streped throut (strep throat).

3/1/98. Today mom went to work and I miss her.

These last two were from middle school. I’m amazed at how creative I used to be. My best friend at the time, Zach Bonstrum and I made our own written language and filled a notebook full of notes about it. We called it Zerx, and I can’t read any of it anymore. But it sure is interesting to flip through an old notebook of mine and not be able to understand any of it.

Zerx Notebook.
