The celebrations continued into the next day, first with a celebration with my family. They got me a cake:

And some gin:

My favorite kind, Tanqueray.
Then, we all went out to Cancun together and had some lunch.

Cancun.
Dad mentioned it was my birthday (as he always does) and at the end of the meal the staff came out and sang Happy Birthday in Spanish. They set down an ice cream dish in front of me and put a spoon in it. Then, one of the guys came at me with a bite of ice cream and I thought he was going to put it in my mouth to get me started. What actually happened was…

…This.
Thanks, Cancun.
Our friends threw Kyoko and I a party later that evening. Here are pictures!

A full fish!

On the far left is Mikako-Sensei, former Japanese professor at Eau Claire. She is completing her masters degree now in Iowa, but came down for the weekend.
Jimmy got Kyoko and I a bottle of raspberry vodka for doing shots together throughout the night. I had to go first.

Thanks Jimmy.

Kyoko was next in line.

We made Mikako give it a try. She can’t drink.

Writing on the cake.

“Happy Birthday Drew & Kyoko – Farewell Jimmy!”

Kyoko did the cutting. Well, she made a cut. I had to finish it.
This next photo is very funny.

Brian giving his maniacal face.
