This was the second of two cookouts in two days! We were very lucky with the weather again. The JCS Cookout is usually held on the last weekend before finals week and is held to celebrate a successful year with the group. We had a lot of money left from the Folk Fair so we went all out on the cookout and bought all the food we could. Sayaka even made chip dip and hamburger mix for the grills at home. We had a great turnout of about 25 people.

There was a lot of food.

We had to get two grills going. Bryan and I did the grilling.

Bryan grilling, Jimmy eating? Funny photo of Jimmy.

Salads and chips.

Someone took a very blurry shot of me.

Emelia and Sayaka.

Kyoko made this burger masterpiece.

The grill-masters.
As a surprise, Sayaka got Kyoko, Yuki, Meghan and I a birthday cake since all of our birthdays are coming up very soon.

Birthday cake! The cake reads: “Happy Birthday Drew, Yuki, Meghan & Kyoko.”
Actually there are a lot of JCS birthdays in May… Brian and a few others I think also have birthdays coming up, just not in this week. Outside of JCS five more of my friends are having a birthday within the next 3 days. Crazy!

Sayaka pretending to cut. I had already done the cutting.
This cookout was really fun! Sayaka and Meghan even did all the shopping and preparation so I didn’t have to do anything but grill. Also, the cake was really good. I love ice cream cakes.
After we cleaned up we took a few group shots…

Nice, except for Kakegawa Sensei’s son in the middle.

Everyone. Taken by a timer.

Last shot!
