Brittany’s last night was on Thursday, so we took a photo to commemorate the event.

Our family of students on Brittany’s last night in Nagasaki. Daniel, Nate, Me, Brittany.
Yesterday, some of my relatives came to Japan! Mariel (my cousin), Aunt Kathleen, and my grandma all came to Nagasaki. After hanging out with Asami for the day, I went to meet my family at Nagasaki station. From the station I took them out to eat at the Takoyaki place in Sumiyoshi I like.

Everyone eating Takoyaki.
After dinner, I took them all to the house. They are staying at my old host family’s house. My family was very excited to have them.

Kiyoko-san and the family eating and talking.

Trying sashimi.

The girls came over to see my relatives. Here Yuuna and Yuri pose for a photo.
After they were all settled in, I left for the night and met them again in Sumiyoshi in the morning. We had a very full day today and I showed them a lot of Nagasaki. We started around 10am with the peace park…

At the peace park in the morning. The weather was pretty rainy and very humid today.
We then walked over to the atomic bomb museum.

A picture marking the hypocenter of the blast.

The hypocenter today.
Then, we went to eat Nagasaki Champon at the station.
After lunch we saw the 26 martyrs of Japan monument. Then, to the Kannon statue.

Kiyoko-san and Grandma.

Mariel standing in front of the Kannon statue.

Temple guard dogs.
We got a tour of the temple underneath the statue.

Aunt Kathleen and Grandma ringing the bells in the temple.

Outside I got a good shot of Mariel sprinkling water on the statue.
Next, we went to see Cocowalk mall. I found a new engrish sticker I hadn’t seen before:

What can you expecy from hog but a grunt.
When they had seen the mall, we went to dinner at a sushi restaurant in Togitsu. We had to wait around an hour to get seated, but it was worth the wait.

Mariel about to enjoy her first sushi in Japan.
After dinner, Kiyoko-san and Grandma went home on the bus. I took Mariel and Aunt Kathleen to karaoke with me and my friends.

Singing.
I even found some Engrish while singing “We Didn’t Start The Fire”

We didn’t light it, but we tried to light it. (actual lyrics: We didn’t light it, but we tried to fight it).
